Health care records from large databases as a tool to study the use of medicines
OBJECTIVESThe availability of health information contained in large databases has widened the scope of drug utilization studies and pharmacovigilance. Large databases have some advantages and disadvantages, as well as limitations and biases that researchers should know either for the design and interpretation of the obtained results. This course intends to give you expertise in discussing most common problems.
LEARNING OUTCOMESAt the end of the course, you will be able to discuss advantages and limitations of the use of large health databases to study the use of medicines in order to avoid biases and interpretative mistakes.
