Eu2P Short Course: From individual cases to the community impact of adverse drug reactions: measuring tools

OBJECTIVES

The analysis of the safety profile of any medicine should weight up the consequences of a given adverse drug reaction to individual patients exposed to the medicine, as well as the impact on the community.

This course intends to:

  • Remind you different measures of the incidence of a given adverse drug reaction (ADR)
  • Describe one measure of the incidence that could be used to calculate the impact of a given ADR on the community
  • Discuss different consumption measures for medicines and their use to estimate the ADR impact on the community
  • Discuss a practical example

LEARNING OUTCOMES
