PhD PORTFOLIO ACTIVITIES
In order to enhance the students' employability and to improve their written/oral communication skills, the Doctoral Board has added portfolio activities so that the future Ph. Doctors are also fully operational as global academics. The academic plan of doctoral students comprises the carrying out of portfolio activities. All the activities below are strongly recommended to the Eu2P doctoral students, but only 60 ECTS credits worth of activities are validated for their degree; this can be done at any stage during the whole duration of the Doctorate.
|Doctoral Activities||Number of earned credits|
|Producing an article for publication in a recognized journal||10 ECTS credits|
|Producing a review for publication in a recognized journal||10 ECTS credits|
|Participating or organising a conference, round table or symposium||3 ECTS credits|
|Teaching experience at higher-education level||3 ECTS credits|
|Completing Eu2P training courses and summer school||From 3 to 6 ECTS credits|
The PhD Supervisor regularly checks the actual follow-up of portfolio activities detailed in the Doctoral Study Plan. Attendance to Eu2P training courses, seminars and/or congress visit(s) must be validated by regular certificates of attendance.
COMPLETION OF Eu2P TRAINING COURSES
The PhD student must justify the follow up and completion of the theoretical training along their project research work for at least a total amount of 20 ECTS credits along the three years of PhD registration. Students may either follow modules chosen from the Eu2P web-based training offer or follow local face-to-face Eu2P Academic partner courses. The choice and planning of the training courses are indicated in the Doctoral Study Plan.
Eu2P offers a large range of on-line training modules from introductory to advanced level in one of the seven Eu2P pharmacovigilance and pharmacoepidemiology training domains.
- The PhD student can choose training modules among the following domains:
- Basics for pharmacovigilance and pharmacoepidemiology
- Benefit assessment of medicines
- Medicines pharmacovigilance and regulatory aspects
- Medicines risk identification and quantification
- Medicines benefit-risk assessment
- Medicines and public health
- Medicines risk communication
Eu2P web-based training
Eu2P provides its web-based training content through a web-based learning management system called Eu2P e-learning platform. All training material is made available to the student through that platform. However, due to the specificity of the e-learning format, the student does not have any warranty on the training (live sessions) availability in any area with time zone different from the GMT one.
Each student is identified and granted rights to access the ad hoc platform tools and resources.
Eu2P face-to-face training
Each Eu2P PhD student is strongly invited to participate to annual Summer schools that may be organised by all or part of the Eu2P Academic Partners.
Eu2P PhD students have access to any other face-to-face training modules developed by the Eu2P Academic partners that they may follow during visits or longer period of stay as detailed in the Doctoral Study Plan.
